Tree-Climbing Lions

Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kasese, Uganda

Photo Gallery

Do Lions Climb Trees? There are only 2 known lion populations in the world that climb trees as part of their daily routine. One of them is found here in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda and the other is found in Lake Manyara in Tanzania. There is no scientific consensus as to why they have developed that habit. Is it to avoid tsetse flies? To get some cool breeze? Or for the views?
