Kleftiko Beach, Milos, Greece

Photo Gallery

Kleftiko is one of Milos’ undisputed highlights. Its impressive caves and rock formations can only be reached by sea. The topography and the large number of hidden bays and caves made it an ideal hideout and strike point for pirates, who hid their booty in some of these caves. They had also setup a black marketplace for local villagers. That is also where the place took its name from: Kleftiko means Bandits’ Lair.
