Blacktip

Moorea, Moorea-Maiao, French Polynesia

Photo Gallery

Blacktip reef sharks are usually up to about 2m in length. Timid and skittish, blacktip reef sharks don’t usually pose a threat to humans but their shy behaviour does make it difficult to get close to them. Blacktips prefer eating small fishes, including mullet, jacks and wrasses and they have sometimes been observed hunting cooperatively by “herding” small schools of fish.
