We set up Wantok Photography with a purpose of showcasing the beauty of our natural world to inspire and help conserve it. We have pledged to direct profits to ocean conservation and while we haven’t made enough revenues to cover our costs so far, we’ve been wanting to give back all along. We therefore decided to donate all of the prize money out of our recent Underwater Tour Award 2020 win of our picture of Leru Cut shot in the Solomon Islands to these two purposes:

  • The Fiji Wildlife Conservation Society’s efforts of setting up and monitoring Marine Protected Areas in our home country of Fiji (one of them anyway 😊). Specifically, the Namena Marine Reserve and the Vatu-i-Ra Conservation Park.
  • Dive Munda’s “it is time to get the youth of the Solomon Islands diving!” campaign, aiming to train young Solomon Islanders in open water diving to increase awareness and instilling the spirit of conservation and sustainability of the natural underwater world in the Solomons, so that sites like Leru Cut are protected and continue to inspire.
