We set up Wantok Photography with a purpose of showcasing the beauty of our natural world to inspire and help conserve it. We have pledged to direct profits to environmental conservation and while our revenues have been very modest so far, we’ve always given back what we can. For the second year in a row, we therefore decided to donate a symbolic amount representing all 2022 proceeds from print sales, prize money and the sale of our 2023 printed calendars to the Beninese Environmental NGO Terre Air Mer Actions Enfance Environnement (TAMAEE) to support its continuing work in empowering the PK10 beach community and especially the women to preserve their natural environment and develop a local green economy. This year, the activities included a training in upcycling!
We also gave TAMAEE a few calendars, which seemed to have been a big hits with the younger generation 😊
